Pediredla Kanakarao is a dedicated Martial Arts and Yoga Trainer from Visakhapatnam with decades of experience in training and promoting physical fitness, discipline, and self-defense. He currently serves as a Guest Faculty Martial Arts Trainer at GITAM University, where he provides self-defense training to university students.

He holds a 3rd Dan Black Belt in Shotokan Karate (2003) and completed his Yoga Trainer Training Course in 2004, combining martial arts techniques with yoga practices to promote strength, flexibility, and mental focus. Through his training programs, he continues to inspire students and community members to lead a healthy, disciplined, and confident lifestyle.

Experience & Training

Pediredla Kanakarao has over 40 years of experience in martial arts practice and teaching. His journey in karate began in 1983 at Dragon Fist Karate School, Visakhapatnam, where he earned his White Belt. He later progressed to Brown Belt in Shotokan Karate in 1989, followed by Black Belt 1st Dan in 1995, and achieved the prestigious Black Belt 3rd Dan in 2003, reflecting his dedication and mastery in martial arts.

Along with karate, he also pursued professional training in yoga. He completed the Yoga Trainer Training Course in 2004 (Human Resource Development of India), followed by the Yoga Siromani Diploma from International Sivananda Yoga in 2012. In 2015, he further enhanced his expertise by completing 300 hours of Yoga Acharya Training in Rishikesh, strengthening his knowledge in traditional yoga practices and holistic wellness.

Performing powerful punches in water is extremely challenging because the resistance of water requires significantly greater strength, control, and endurance compared to performing the same movement on land. Despite these difficulties, he demonstrated exceptional physical strength, precise technique, and remarkable stamina to accomplish this feat.

International Book of Records – 2024

In 2024, Pediredla Kanakarao achieved international recognition from the International Book of Records for his exceptional speed and technical precision in martial arts. He successfully set a record by performing 184 full-extension karate punches in just 30 seconds while wearing gloves, a remarkable display of power, control, and rapid striking ability. Achieving such a high number of punches within a short time requires extraordinary hand speed, endurance, and perfect coordination between mind and body.

Kalam’s World Records – 2023

In 2023, Pediredla Kanakarao achieved an extraordinary milestone by setting a world record recognized by Kalam’s World Records for performing 6101 karate punches underwater in 34 minutes and 19 seconds. This remarkable achievement required immense physical endurance, breath control, mental concentration, and precise martial arts technique. Performing karate punches underwater is extremely demanding due to the resistance of water, which makes every movement slower and more physically challenging compared to performing the same action on land.

Asia Book of Records – 2023

In 2023, Pediredla Kanakarao earned prestigious recognition from the Asia Book of Records for accomplishing an extraordinary martial arts endurance feat. He successfully performed 6101 full-extension karate punches in a water pool within 34 minutes and 19 seconds, demonstrating exceptional strength, stamina, and technical precision. Community Self-Defense Training Appreciation

Pediredla Kanakarao has made significant contributions to society through his dedication to teaching self-defense and personal safety skills to young students, especially school-going girls. As part of a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative in the Bhimili Constituency, he conducted specialized self-defense training programs for 8th and 9th class girl students from Anandapuram High School, Chittivalasa High School, and Revidi Government High School. These training sessions were designed to empower young girls with practical techniques to protect themselves and respond confidently in difficult situations.
